Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are major partners of the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the operational unit of Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), implementing about half of the projects in partner countries. Assistance is given to NGO activities in developmental communication and education in Austria. ADA also cooperates with the private sector via development and business partnerships. Moreover, Austria promotes emergency relief and reconstruction projects in the wake of disasters.
