Browser compatibility and screen resolution
The Entwicklung.at website is optimized for Firefox 1.X and Internet Explorer 7 (or higher) at a resolution of 1024x768 pixel.
Older browser versions can cause graphic deviations in the display. You can download current browsers from the Internet:
Accessibility
The web pages of the Austrian Development Cooperation portal have been designed to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 1.0, Priority A).
You can find the Guidelines on the W3C website:
www.w3.org /TR/WAI-WEBCONTENT/
Font size can be varied.
Navigating with the keyboard
You can also navigate the website with the keyboard:
Alt+0 for Contents
Alt+3 for General navigation
Alt+4 for Navigation information
Alt+5 for ‘Where am I?’
Alt+7 for Search
In some browser versions, inputs must be completed with ‘Enter’ or ‘Return’.
If you use Firefox 2.0, navigation is carried out with the key combination Shift + Alt (for example, Shift + Alt + 0 for Home).
Accessibility with PDF files
Not all PDF files are accessible yet (PDF stands for Portable Document Format). In the course of the next few months, all PDFs will be provided as accessible documents.
Altering font size
Font size can be altered individually depending on viewing preferences in the browser or on the page itself (A A A).
With Internet Explorer and Firefox, click the menu item ‘View’, then ‘Font size’ and then select your preferred size.
Choosing a very large font size can lead to deviations in display.
Browser search STRG+F
With the shortcut key ‘STRG+F’, you can search for terms in a browser page.
Google Maps/Interactive Map
Under the navigation point ‘Countries and Regions’, you can find the interactive maps. These maps also provide a kind of navigation. The full range of Google Maps functions can also be used within the map.
Printing pages
On the top left of each page, you can find the link ‘Print’ to operate the browser print function.
Searching the website
In the left column on every page, you can find the input field to enter your search term (‘Enter’ or ‘GO’).
You will then receive a page with search hits. Via the entry fields you can limit the search hits further if you have too many results or enter a new search term.
You can also conduct an ‘advanced search’. Here you can select filter options, such as time period or language.

Viewing and saving PDF documents
To open PDF documents you need the software, Adobe Reader.
You can download this here free of charge.
When you have installed Adobe Reader, you can view the PDF documents directly in the browser by clicking on the link. If your browser does not support the software, click with the right mouse button on ‘Download’ (with Windows) or keep the button pressed (with Macintosh) and select from the context menu ‘Save under...’. This way you can save documents directly onto your hard disk then view them.
