To further discussion on development cooperation and development policy in Austria, Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) also promotes development work at home. Through events, continuing education measures, campaigns, informational material, films and much more, it seeks to stimulate lively communication on topics and issues in development cooperation and development policy in the public domain in Austria.

Dialogue based on partnership

Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) are particularly important for educational, cultural and public relations activities in development policy: In large part, their work consists in informing, communicating and campaigning. This improves knowledge about global relations, current problems and their causes. The population is informed about developmental approaches in the local, national and international context and this fosters commitment to development.

Funding facilities

The department, Development Communication and Education in Austria, in the Austrian Development Agency, the operational unit of Austrian Development Cooperation, supports organisations by funding individual projects. Applications can also be made to the Austrian Development Agency for EU cofinancing for projects assisted by the European Commission.

Eligible for funding are measures in education/global learning, public relations/communication, journalism and science as well as culture and audio-visual media.
