Austrian Development Cooperation

Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) supports countries in Africa, Asia and Central America as well as in South Eastern and Eastern Europe in their sustainable social, economic and democratic development. The Foreign Ministry (FMEIA) plans ADC strategies and programmes. The Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the operational unit of ADC, implements these together with public institutions, non-governmental organisations and enterprises.

EU-cofinancing

For projects in Austria promoted by the European Commission, cofinancing is possible from Austrian Development Cooperation. EU cofinance via ADC is available for projects to raise public awareness of development issues and promote development education under the EU budget line for Non-State Actors and Local Authorities in Development (21 March 2001) and for projects from other lines.

Most projects last several years.
