NGO cooperation international

Cooperation with non-governmental organisations (NGOs) combines official development assistance with numerous civil-society initiatives. This way, government and civil society make a joint contribution to poverty reduction and improving the conditions of life in developing countries.

To be eligible for assistance, the applicant organisation must have its registered office in Austria, be thus established in civil society and cooperate with a local project partner. The projects and programmes are based on the NGO’s own initiatives and are directed at meeting the actual needs of the target groups in developing countries. The resources the NGO’s are required to contribute differ depending on funding instrument and project country.
