Austrian Development Cooperation

Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) supports countries in Africa, Asia and Central America as well as in South Eastern and Eastern Europe in their sustainable social, economic and democratic development. The Foreign Ministry (FMEIA) plans ADC strategies and programmes. The Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the operational unit of ADC, implements these together with public institutions, non-governmental organisations and enterprises.

Personnel Development Cooperation

In personnel development cooperation, Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) cofinances programmes for longer-term assignments of personnel in developing countries. Development cooperation specialists are seconded to make valuable contributions in partner countries. This builds capacity in local organisations, but at the same time, personnel get to know the concerns in developing countries and communicate these to Austrian civil society. This helps the Austrian public to appreciate the importance of development themes and issues.

Programmes in personnel development cooperation are implemented by Austrian non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Individuals are not entitled to apply.

Guidelines on funding personnel development cooperation are only available in German.
