
Preserving environment and enabling access to education for more people are two of the main of Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC). ADC has financed the making of the "Green Pack", which is a modern teaching material for environmental education in Macedonia. This project - the Green Pack - perfectly demonstrates how environmental and educational issues intertwine. It targets primary school pupils, aged from 10 to 14 years, who shall pass on their knowledge on environmental protection to their friends and families.
The innovative multimedia "Green Pack" has been finally presented to the public after more than two years of fruitful cooperation between the ADC-Coordination Office in Skopje, the Regional Environmental Center, the Bureau for Development of Education and the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning of the Republic of Macedonia.
Approximately 350 teachers from all primary schools in Macedonia and members of environmental NGOs have been trained on the usage of the "Green Pack" materials. For the first time, "Green Pack" materials have been published in Bray Alphabet and donated to the school for children with damaged eyesight in Skopje.
The successful project pursues an ambitious objective: environmental awareness raising of pupils and teachers and via them that of society as a whole.
The Austrian Development Cooperation has supported this project with EUR 321.000,- and is currently considering the support for the making of the Green Pack Junior for children in primary schools aged from 6 to 10 years.
