Austrian Development Cooperation

Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) supports countries in Africa, Asia and Central America as well as in South Eastern and Eastern Europe in their sustainable social, economic and democratic development. The Foreign Ministry (FMEIA) plans ADC strategies and programmes. The Austrian Development Agency (ADA), the operational unit of ADC, implements these together with public institutions, non-governmental organisations and enterprises.

Strategic documents

The Three-Year Programme on Austrian Development Policy is drawn up by the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs and updated every year. Country programmes and sector policies are also prepared on a continuous basis to set out the framework for the Austrian Development Cooperation with a region or in a sector. Long-term planning seeks to ensure effective development cooperation and provide guidance for all partners. The strategic documents can be ordered from the ADA and are available for download on this page.
