The overall aim of the programme is to strengthen democratic governance to promote women's human rights through support to policy planning and budgeting processes to integrate a gender perspective. Counterparts in governments will be supported to develop their capacity to apply gender responsive budgeting (GRB) to analysis and formulation of policies in a specific sector of importance to women, in at least four SEE countries, Moldova, Albania, Macedonia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.The programme will also support gender equality advocates to develop knowledge on GRB and to engage in monitoring of allocations as an advocacy strategy. The programme will support interventions at local or national level in at least four countries, as well as support sub-regional and regional knowledge sharing and learning.
