We are promoting economic growth and sustainable development in Kosovo by improving the employability of students.

According to the 2016 OECD Pisa Test, Kosovo is one of the lowest ranked OECD countries in terms of their education system. Therefore, improving the overall quality of education through a reform is one of the top priorities of the country.

In the framework of the project Aligning Education and Training with Labour Market Needs (ALLED II), we support the Balkan state in its efforts to reform the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system and in aligning it with the specific needs of the Kosovan labour market and European standards. This will increase employment chances for students and promote economic growth and sustainable development in Kosovo. We were delegated by the European Union (EU) to implement the project with a total budget of 4.5 million euros in our partner country.

Linking education and the labour market

ALLED II supports the Kosovan Ministry of Education and Science as well as the Kosovan Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare and the Employment Agency of the Republic of Kosovo in reforming the education sector and linking education to labour market needs. To this end, we are closely working together with 20 Vocational Education and Training schools, four Vocational Training Centres and four Faculties of the University of Pristina. We also bring these institutions together with the business sector such as the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce.

The ALLED II project facilitates a strategic cooperation between the public sector, academia and businesses, aiming to bring forward more employment opportunities for young people and economic growth.
