Overall goal


Der Verein CHIALA veranstaltet 2014 die 11. Afrika-Festwochen in Graz, die im Zeichen der Auseinandersetzung mit afrikanischer Kunst, Kultur und Lebensweisen sowie der gesellschaftlichen Teilhabe und Sichtbarmachung von Menschen afrikanischer Herkunft stehen.

Das innovative Kultur- und Begegnungsprogramm an verschiedenen Veranstaltungsorten umfasst: 'CINEMAFRICA – Afrika Filmtage' gemeinsam mit afrikanischen Diaspora-Organisationen in Graz, die Afrika-Literaturtage in Koop. mit Literaturhaus Graz, eine kritische Diskursreihe zu aktuellen gesellschaftlichen Entwicklungen in Afrika sowie die Modeschau 'Fashion without Borders' von adama paris, einer international renommierten Designerin aus dem Senegal. Den Abschluss und Höhepunkt des Festivals bildet ein 3-tägiges Open-Air-Festival im Grazer Augarten.

Umfangreiche begleitende Medien- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit findet statt. Kooperationen mit etablierten Kulturveranstaltern, entwicklungspolitischen/sozialen/migrantischen Einrichtungen und Akteuren werden realisiert.

Rund 10.000 BesucherInnen werden erwartet. Zielgruppen sind die afrikanischen Communities, Kinder und Jugendliche sowie eine politisch- und kulturinteressierte Öffentlichkeit.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 125.914,- mit Euro 8.000,- gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
