Short Description:

Overall goal


Das KASUMAMA Afrika Festival in Harbach (Waldviertel, NÖ) bietet 2019 und 2020 für jeweils fünf Tage ein vielfältiges Kunst-, Kultur- und Begegnungsprogramm. Das Projekt fördert den interkulturellen Dialog im ländlichen Raum durch unterschiedliche Zugänge, wie Musik, bildende Kunst, Film, Theater, Vorträge und Kulinarik.


Expected results


Die direkte Begegnung mit Kulturschaffenden aus Afrika weckt das Interesse für andere Kulturen, Dialog und gemeinsame Aktivitäten tragen zu mehr Verständnis bei. Es werden abhängig vom Wetter 3.000 - 5.000 BesucherInnen pro Festival erwartet.

Ergebnisse (pro Festival): 9 Konzerte, 8 verschiedene Workshops für Erwachsene und Kinder; 3 - 6 Gesprächsrunden; 6 Filmvorstellungen, Artist Talks und Music Labs, „Afrika für alle Sinne“ (Afrikadorf, Bazar und Kulinarik), Schulprogramm für 100 SchülerInnen; Programmheft (11.000 Stk), Flyer (30.000 Stk), Plakate (4.000); Website, 4.000 Email-Newsletter-AbonnentInnen, Social Media, breite regionale Reichweite in der Medienarbeit;


Target group / Beneficiaries


Durch vielfältige Angebote wird eine breite Öffentlichkeit angesprochen, dazu gehören Familien, Kinder und Jugendliche, kulturell Interessierte, entwicklungspolitisch Engagierte, Waldviertel-Touristinnen und die lokale Bevölkerung. Menschen mit Flucht- und Migrationshintergrund aus der Region werden in die Projektaktivitäten eingebunden.

Activities


Integrale Bestandteile des Festivals sind ein umfangreiches und partizipatives Workshop-Programm für alle Altersgruppen, sowie Vorträge, Diskussionen, Filme und künstlerische Darbietungen. Ein hochkarätiges, facettenreiches Musikprogramm präsentiert die verschiedenen Musiktraditionen quer durch Afrika. Heimische Welt-Musikgruppen runden den Musik-Mix als „Cross Over“ zum Ausklang ab. Mit einer Mischung aus Dokumentarfilmen, Podiumsdiskussionen und Vorträgen bietet die Open Stage-Bühne „Karibu“ (Suaheli für „Willkommen“) eine Austauschplattform für Information und Diskussion zu globalen Themen. Die Programmpunkte „Artist Talks“ und „Music Lab“ ermöglichen Austausch und gemeinsames Wirken mit den KünstlerInnen. Im Jubiläumsjahr 2020 ist ein „musikalisches Best of“ von 20 Jahren Kasumama Afrika Festival geplant.


Context


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 236.840,- in der beantragten Höhe von Euro 14.000,- (Zweckwidmung) mit einer Laufzeit von 27 Monaten gefördert.
