Das vom Otto Preminger Institut organisierte Internationale Filmfestival Innsbruck (IFFI) ist als international wichtiges Filmereignis bekannt.


Das 20. IFFI zeigt im Juni 2011 in seinem internationalen Wettbewerb Filme aus und über Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika. Grundidee ist, die kulturelle Vielfalt dieser Kontinente einem größeren Publikum zugänglich zu machen. Es werden rund 80 Spiel- und Dokumentarfilme präsentiert, für die wie jedes Jahr mehrere Jurypreise vergeben werden. Die Filmvorführungen werden durch eine Reihe von Begleitveranstaltungen (Publikumsdiskussionen, Ausstellungen, Konzerte) ergänzt.


Inhaltliche Schwerpunkte ergeben sich aus der Themenwahl der RegisseurInnen und betreffen u.a. aktuelle Entwicklungen von Umweltproblemen, Genderfragen und Demokratiediskussionen.


Gleichzeitig leistet das IFFI einen Beitrag zur Vernetzung der entwicklungspolitischen Filmaktivitäten innerhalb Österreichs z.B. durch die Vermittlung von Know-How, Beratung bei der Programmierung, Vermittlung der Filme an andere Festivals und Kinos und an den heimischen Verleih, und Führung eines Video/DVD-Archivs. Erklärtes Ziel ist, filmisches Schaffen aus Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika dadurch vermehrt im österreichischen Kulturangebot zu integrieren.


Vorrangige Zielgruppen des Festivals sind kino- und kulturinteressierte Gäste, entwicklungspolitisch Interessierte, Studierende und SchülerInnen.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 153.000,00 in der Höhe von EUR 10.000,00 (6,54%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
