Overall goal


Das 27. Internationale Filmfestival Innsbruck (IFFI) zeigt von 29. Mai bis 3. Juni 2018 in einem internationalen Wettbewerb Filme aus Afrika, Asien, Lateinamerika und Südosteuropa. Schwerpunktland 2018 ist Georgien. Ziel ist, die kulturelle Vielfalt dieser Kontinente bzw. Regionen abseits von Stereotypen einem größeren Publikum zugänglich zu machen und Herausforderungen der Menschen in Entwicklungsländern zu thematisieren und zu diskutieren.


Expected results


An 6 Festivaltagen werden rund 85 Filme in Begleitung von ca. 40 internationalen FilmemacherInnen präsentiert. Rund 6.000 BesucherInnen werden erwartet. Indirekt wird die breite Öffentlichkeit über lokale und regionale Medienberichte (u.a. DerStandard, DiePresse, Das Komplex, Subtext, ORF Tirol, Tirol TV, FM4, Ray Filmmagazin) erreicht.


Target group / Beneficiaries


Das Festival richtet sich an eine kino- und kulturinteressierte Öffentlichkeit sowie ein Publikum, das keine besondere entwicklungspolitische Vorbildung hat. Insbesondere junge BesucherInnen stehen im Fokus des Projekts. Mit dem Länderschwerpunkt Georgien wird ein Partnerland der OEZA in den Fokus der öffentlichen Aufmerksamkeit gerückt; zusätzlich werden junge Filmschaffende aus Burkina Faso mit Filmpatenschaften eines Kooperationspartners unterstützt. Das IFFI arbeitet mit einem breiten Netzwerk von KooperationspartnerInnen im In- und Ausland (FilmexpertInnen, Wirtschaft, NRO, Filmfestivals - insbesondere Filmfestival Tiflis - , Bildungseinrichtungen, Schulen, Hochschulen) und verfügt über gute Medienpartnerschaften.


Activities


Das IFFI bringt qualitativ hochwertige Spiel-, Dokumentar- und Kurzfilme von RegisseurInnen aus Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika und Südosteuropa nach Österreich und vermittelt die Vielfalt filmischen Ausdrucks unterschiedlicher Kulturen. Mehrere Jurypreise werden vergeben. Ein umfangreiches Rahmenprogramm ergänzt die ca. 65 Filmvorführungen (Publikumsdiskussionen mit internationalen FilmemacherInnen und ExpertInnen, Workshops, Kulinarik, Konzerte) und fördert den interkulturellen Dialog sowie Verständnis für entwicklungspolitische Anliegen. Das Publikum wird aktiv in die Maßnahmen einbezogen. Themen und Problematiken von Ländern, die medial oft wenig differenzierte Auseinandersetzung erfahren, werden gezielt aufgegriffen.


Context


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 172.000,- mit EUR 12.000,- (6,98% der Gesamtkosten) bei einer Laufzeit von 12 Monaten gefördert.
