Overall goal


Das 28. Internationale Filmfestival Innsbruck (IFFI) zeigt von 28. Mai - 2. Juni 2019 in einem internationalen Wettbewerb Filme aus Afrika, Asien, Lateinamerika und Südosteuropa. Ziel ist, die kulturelle Vielfalt dieser Kontinente bzw. Regionen abseits von Stereotypen einem größeren Publikum zugänglich zu machen und Herausforderungen der Menschen in Entwicklungsländern zu thematisieren und zu diskutieren.


Expected results


An 6 Festivaltagen werden rund 70 Spiel-, Dokumentar- und Kurzfilme präsentiert, mit begleitenden Diskussionen in Anwesenheit von ca. 20 FilmemacherInnen.

Mehrere Jurypreise werden vergeben (5 Filmpreise, 1 Ehrenpreis).

Rund 5.000 BesucherInnen nehmen an den Filmvorführungen und Begleitveranstaltungen teil. Eine breitere Öffentlichkeit wird indirekt über lokale und regionale Medienberichte (u.a. auf ORF-Tirol, Die Presse, Radio Freirad, Ray Filmmagazin) erreicht.

Der Verleih von Filmen, die beim IFFI gezeigt werden, wird ermöglicht; seltene Filme werden in der Festival Library für die weitere Nutzung archiviert.


Target group / Beneficiaries


Zielgruppen:

Das Festival richtet sich an entwicklungspolitisch interessierte BesucherInnen, eine kino- und kulturinteressierte Öffentlichkeit sowie auch an ein Publikum, die keine besondere entwicklungspolitische Vorbildung hat. Insbesondere junge BesucherInnen stehen im Fokus des Projekts.

Kooperation/ Vernetzung/ Partner:

Das IFFI arbeitet mit einem breiten Netzwerk von KooperationspartnerInnen im In- und Ausland: Internationale öffentliche Kultur- und Bildungseinrichtungen, NGOs, Filmschulen, Forum Österreichischer Filmfestivals, Partnerfestivals und Festivalnetzwerke, Universitäten, Jugendeinrichtungen, Tourismusvertretungen, Wirtschaft. Kooperationen zwischen heimischen und internationalen Filmschaffenden werden initiiert und weitergeführt.


Activities


Das IFFI bringt qualitativ hochwertige Spiel-, Dokumentar- und Kurzfilme von RegisseurInnen aus Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika und Südosteuropa nach Österreich und vermittelt die Vielfalt filmischen Ausdrucks unterschiedlicher Kulturen. Mehrere Jurypreise werden vergeben.

Die ca. 70 Filmvorführungen werden ergänzt durch ein Begleitprogramm (Publikumsdiskussionen mit internationalen FilmemacherInnen und ProduzentInnen, Einführungen von ExpertInnen, Workshops, Konzerte, Filmworkshops für junges Publikum, Social Media, Blog). Das Publikum wird durch Angebote zu Diskussion, Begegnung und Dialog aktiv einbezogen.

Themen und Problematiken von Ländern, die medial oft wenig differenzierte Auseinandersetzung erfahren, werden gezielt aufgegriffen. Schwerpunktländer sind 2019 u.a. Georgien und Burkina Faso. Thematische Schwerpunkte 2019 sind u.a. Migration/Flucht, die Situation von Jugendlichen in Ländern des globalen Südens, Menschenrechte, Klimaschutz und Geschlechtergleichstellung.

Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 167.000,- mit Euro 12.000,- (7,19% des Gesamtprojektvolumens) gefördert.
