Overall goal


"Wasser für das Leben" unter diesem Motto wurde von den Vereinten Nationen am 22. März 2005 (=Weltwassertag) die "Internationale Wasserdekade" eingeläutet. Bis zum Jahr 2015 will die UNO weltweit die Zahl jener, die keinen Zugang zu sauberem Trinkwasser haben, halbieren. Spannungen und Konflikte um Wasser und Wasserzugang können verhindert werden, wenn heutige Reserven durch den Einsatz neuer Technologien erhalten werden. Der Trend geht vom Bau neuer und größerer Staudämme über die Wiederaufbereitung von gebrauchtem Wasser bis hin zur Erziehung des Verbrauchers. Hier setzt das konkrete Projektvorhaben an: Seit 1998 werden die Parlamente der Jugend für das Wasser von Solidarität Wasser Europa organisiert. Sie dienen dazu junge Europäer für ein friedliches und demokratisches Europa und speziell für die Belange der Wasserwirtschaft in Europa zu sensibilisieren und den Jugendlichen Demokratie und Zivilgesellschaft zu erläutern.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
