Short Description:

Overall goal

In accordance with Bhutanese development priorities the tourism sector will be strenghtened to provide job opportunities to the increasingly well educated youth, and to increase high-yield - low-impact tourism (and thereby foreign revenues).

A central strategic investment in this regard will be the Hotel & Tourism Management and Training Institute (HTMTI) to be implemented under this project. The HTMTI will serve as the first Bhutanese training institute in the tourism sector. Until today, training in this sector has only been available abroad.

This Project contributes to the HTMTI undertaking by providing an expert for planning inputs to the disposal of sewage and wastewater in an ecologically sound manner. The Austrian expert will - in cooperation with the Bhutanese Project Management Unit and the Indian planning company - single out the most suitable model for sewage and wastewater disposal at HTMTI and prepare lead-design for the disposal mechanism.
