Short Description:

Overall goal


Der Verein der afrikanischen Studierenden in Österreich (VAS Österreich) organisiert von 8. – 11. Juni 2015 im Vienna International Center die europäische Netzwerkkonferenz ‚African Diaspora Youth Forum in Europe‘ zum zweiten Mal. Die erste Konferenz fand im Oktober 2014 statt. Das europäische Netzwerkforum soll künftig jährlich stattfinden. Das Forum möchte im Europäischen Jahr der Entwicklung (EYD 2015) speziell zum Themenmonat Juni „Nachhaltiges Wirtschaften, angemessene Arbeitsplätze und Unternehmen“ einen Beitrag leisten.


Expected results


Insgesamt werden 200 StudentInnen sowie 30 ExpertInnen an der Konferenz teilnehmen. Internationale Gäste stehen auch über den Tagungszeitraum hinaus zur Weiterarbeit zur Verfügung, neue Netzwerke zum Informationsaustausch bzw. zur Kooperation werden gebildet. Begleitende Pressearbeit und die Veröffentlichung des Abschlussdokumentes sind vorgesehen, ein längerfristiger Austausch mit studentischen Organisationen mittels Online-Plattform wird etabliert.


Target group / Beneficiaries


Ziel- und Dialoggruppen sind StudentInnen und junge Menschen, insbesondere afrikanische Studierende in Österreich, afrikanische StudentInnen-Organisationen in Europa, sowie ExpertInnen aus Österreich und aus afrikanischen Ländern und MultiplikatorInnen aus entwicklungspolitischen Organisationen. Dabei sollen junge Erwachsene unterstützt werden Kapazitäten aufzubauen und Leadership-Fähigkeiten zu entwickeln und Netzwerke zu bilden.


Activities


Das Programm beinhaltet Vorträge mit internationalen ExpertInnen zu nachhaltiger Entwicklung in Afrika, Podiumsdiskussionen, Workshops, Trainings und Netzwerkarbeit. Kooperationspartner sind neben österreichischen Organisationen, afrikanische Botschaften in Wien, Diaspora-Organisationen sowie internationale Organisationen wie ILO, UNIDO, African Union.

Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 21.100,- mit Euro 7.000,- (Zweckwidmung) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
