Overall goal


Das Afro-Asiatische Institut (AAI) in Wien ist seit über 40 Jahren ein interkultureller und interreligiöser Treffpunkt. Es beherbergt neben einem internationalen StudentInnenheim, einem Cafe, einer Mensa auch eine Kapelle, einen Hindutempel und eine Moschee. In der AAI Wien-Galerie des Weltcafés können KünstlerInnen aus Ländern des Südens ihre Werke präsentieren. Als Veranstaltungszentrum zählt die Bildungs- und Kulturarbeit zu den Hauptaufgaben des Instituts.


Das Projekt ist ein Beitrag zum Schwerpunkt "Ke Nako Afrika - Afrika jetzt!". Die Bedeutung von Frauen in Konfliktlösungsmodellen in Subsahara-Afrika wird diskutiert.

Die geplanten Aktivitäten 2010 umfassen: Diskussionen, Workshops, Friedenssaiten mit Marwan Abado, Lesungen als Beitrag zur Afro-Lit, einem Fest für Miriam Makeba, Filmabenden und Theater mit Babátólá Aloba (Schwarze Frauen Community).


In der Beleuchtung von Konfliktlösungsmodellen wird Friedenskultur hier im Sinne der gewaltfreien Kommunikation nach dem Konzept von Marschall B. Rosenberg erarbeitet. Die vier Schritte "Beobachten - Gefühl äußern - Bedürfnis formulieren - Bitte um Handlung äußern" können als Leitfaden für Konfliktlösungsstrategien genutzt werden.


Frauen in Österreich, die sich für Gendergerechtigkeit und Friedenskultur interessieren/engagieren, und Frauen aus den Ländern des Südens können ihre Erfahrungen zum Thema Gendergerechtigkeit gegenüberstellen. Kulturelle und gesellschaftliche Ursachen von Ungleichbehandlung und Konflikten werden diskutiert, die gemeinsame Betroffenheit dargestellt und Lösungsansätze angedacht. Damit baut das AAI in Wien auf Erfahrungen des vorjährigen Projekts "Frauen als treibende Kraft" auf, und bindet die dadurch neu gewonnenen Zielgruppen ein.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 54.970,00 in der Höhe von EUR 20.000,- (36,38%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
