Overall goal


Die ÖOG-HP versteht sich als Zentrum der Begegnung zwischen Österreich und dem islamischen Orient und setzt Aktivitäten in entwicklungspolitischer- und kulturspezifischer Hinsicht. Die ÖOG-HP will ein Begegnungs- und Dialogforum darstellen, welches Informations- und Gedankenaustausch fördert und als Informationsvermittlungs- und Anlaufstelle für verschiedene interessierte Zielgruppen fungiert.


Im Rahmen dieses Projekts bietet die ÖOG Kompaktseminare zu dem Themenbereich "Arabische Welten - Islamische Welten" für JournalistInnen an. Dies erfolgt in Kooperation mit dem Kuratorium für Journalistenausbildung. Ziel dieses Weiterbildungsprogramms ist es, eine reflektierte und fundierte Berichterstattung zu fördern, da es in der österreichischen Öffentlichkeit zur arabisch-islamischen Welt zum Teil wenig fundierte Kenntnisse der Region bzw. des Islam gibt. Angesichts aktueller Entwicklungen - "Terrordrohungen via Internet", "Atomstreit mit dem Iran", Karikaturenstreit", Lage im Irak, Konflikte im Nahen Osten sind auch österreichische MedienvertreterInnen intensiv gefordert, über arabisch-islamische Welten Wissen zu generieren. Das nachfrageorientierte Angebot der ÖOG stellt fundiertes Wissen von ExpertInnen zur Verfügung


Dieses Projekt stellt eine Fortsetzung der in den letzten beiden Jahren gut eingeführten Initiative der ÖOG zur Weiterbildung von JournalistInnen dar.. Diese Ausbildung wird mittlerweile in Wien, Innsbruck und Graz angeboten.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 13.900,00 in der Höhe von EUR 11.000,00 (79,14 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
