Overall goal


Das Afro-Asiatische Institut (AAI) wurde 1959 von Kardinal Franz König als entwicklungspolitische Einrichtung in Wien mit der Aufgabe gegründet, den Dialog der Kulturen und Religionen zu fördern oder zu initiieren. Ein Ziel des Hauses ist es einen aktiven Raum für einen interkulturellen Dialog zu bieten.


Dieses Projekt "Asiatische Kulturtage und -wochen" fördert die Begegnung und kreative Auseinandersetzung mit eigens vom AAI geschulten und begleiteten FachreferentInnen aus Asien. Das AAI bereitet ein vielfältiges asiatisches Kulturprogramm vor, welches neben Ausstellungen (z.B. "Indonesien", "Ostasiatischer Raum"), einen chinesischen Familiennachmittag, Kreativworkshops, Film- und Kulturabende ("Indien", "Tempeltanz-Workshop") sowie unterschiedliche Diskussionsrunden ("Lebenswelten von Frauen in Asien" - insbesonde-re Tibet", "Kulturelle und wirtschaftliche Entwicklung in den boomenden Regionen Ost-asiens") offeriert. Im schulischen Bereich hat das AAI in Wien 15 Veranstaltungen anberaumt, mit drei differenzierten Schwerpunkten ( Schwerpunkt Kulturen

Ostasiens; Schwerpunkt Türkei - Brücke oder Grenze zwischen Europa und Asien?;

Schwerpunkt: Kultur und Islam)

Als ReferentInnen stellen sich Studierende aus den jeweiligen Ländern zur Verfügung, die vom AAI methodisch und pädagogisch aus- und weitergebildet werden


Als Zeitpunkt ist Oktober und November 2007 anberaumt und es werden Diskussionsplattformen und kulturelle Veranstaltungen geboten. Als Zielgruppe gelten die kulturell wie auch entwicklungspolitisch interessierte Öffentlichkeit, SchülerInnen und Studierende.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 35.010,00 in der Höhe von EUR 15.000,00 (42,84%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
