Die Caritas-Initiative "Solidarität gegen den Krieg" führt in Kooperation mit dem lokalen Projektpartner "Kunduz Women Association" (KWA) in Kunduz, Nordafghanistan, ein Frauenförderungsprojekt durch.


Im Rahmen des Projektes wird eine Schneiderei, eine Ausbildungsstätte, ein Kindergarten und eine Sozialberatungsstelle aufgebaut, um die Situation von Frauen längerfristig zu verbessern und ihnen die Möglichkeit zu bieten, wieder am öffentlichen Leben teilzunehmen. Durch den Bau der Nähwerkstätte, den Ankauf geeigneter Nähmaschinen und ein gezieltes Training wird mehr als 40 Frauen eine Beschäftigungsmöglichkeit geboten. Darüber hinaus steht den Frauen durch die Kombination der Arbeitsstätte mit dem Kindergarten und der Schule eine Betreuungsmöglichkeit für ihre Kinder zur Verfügung. Die Schule bietet zusätzlich eine wirtschaftliche Berufsausbildung für Mädchen an. Das Sozialberatungszentrum richtet sich vor allem an sozial benachteiligte Frauen und bietet Unterstützung, Information und Aufklärungsarbeit an (z.B. im Bereich Hygiene, Geburtshilfe, GBV, Grundrechte von Frauen, etc).


Durch die Einnahmen der Nähwerkstätte und die Stärkung der Kapazitäten der lokalen Trägerorganisation durch die Caritas soll sich das Projekt langfristig selbst tragen können und somit eine nachhaltige Unterstützung der Frauen erzielen.
