Overall goal


Welthaus, 1998 gegründet, ist der Zusammenschluss von sieben katholischen entwicklungspolitischen Organisationen in Graz, Linz, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Wien, St. Pölten und Klagenfurt. Welthaus engagiert sich sowohl in der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit als auch in der entwicklungspolitischen Inlandsarbeit. Die Einladung von Gästen aus dem Süden und deren Begegnung mit Dialoggruppen in Österreich ist ein langjähriges Element der entwicklungspolitischen Bildungsarbeit der Welthaus-Gruppe. Dieser Arbeit liegt ein umfassendes Konzept in Bezug auf die Auswahl der Gäste, der Dialoggruppen sowie ein methodisches Konzept für die "Begegnung" zugrunde. Das Projekt wird seit 2003 aus Mitteln der OEZA gefördert. Die 2-jährige Aufbauphase war von einem intensiven Prozess der Qualitätsentwicklung begleitet. Neben der Einladung eigener Gäste stellt Welthaus sein Know How in der Durchführung von Gästeeinsätzen auch anderen Gruppen und Organisationen zur Verfügung und trägt somit zur Weiterentwicklung dieses Bereichs insgesamt bei.

Die Gäste sind ProjektpartnerInnen der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. 2006 ist die Einladung von ProjektpartnerInnen aus Makilala/ Philippinen geplant, die dort nach neuen Lösungen zur Ernährungssicherung und Armutsbekämpfung suchen und im Bereich nachhaltiger Entwicklung tätig sind.

Welthaus kooperiert mit zahlreichen lokalen PartnerInnen (kirchlichen Gruppen, Pfarren, Schulen, Gemeinden) sowie mit Gruppen und Organisationen aus dem kirchlichen und entwicklungspolitischen Umfeld. Für die verschiedenen Ziel- und Dialoggruppen wurden unterschiedliche Module für das Begegnungsprogramm erarbeitet. Das Programm richtet sich v. a. an entwicklungspolitisch Interessierte, SchülerInnen und LehrerInnen, Mitglieder und Gremien der Kirchengemeinden, andere entwicklungspolitische Gruppen.

Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 118.750,00 in der Höhe von

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
