Overall goal


Die senegalesische Regierung hat, Ende Juli die Geldgeber um Unterstützung in der Bekämfung der Wanderheuschrecken ersucht. Die Aktivitäten der Geber werden von der FAO koordiniert, die um einen raschen Beitrag ersucht. Da sich die Heuschrecken aufgrund klimatischer Bedingungen sehr gut entwickeln konnten, müssen nun trotz früher Warnungen großflächige Vernichtungsaktionen gestartet werden, um die Ernte zu retten. Begleitende Maßnahmen zum Schutz der menschlichen Gesundheits und der Umwelt und die Vermeidung von unnötigem Pestizideinsatz sind vorgesehen. Diese Nothilfe fügt sich gut in den Rahmen der ländlichen Entwicklung, die der Schwerpunkt der OEZA im Senegal ist.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
