Overall goal


Die 1967 gegründete Österreichische Forschungsstiftung für Internationale Entwicklung - ÖFSE ist die größte entwicklungspolitische Forschungseinrichtung in Österreich.

Durch das gegenständliche Projekt wird der Arbeitsbereich Bibliothek, Information und Dokumentation gefördert, in dem Veröffentlichungen zu allgemeinen entwicklungspolitischen Themen und zu Schwerpunktthemen der OEZA dokumentiert werden.

Einen Kernbereich bildet die Österreichische Bibliothek für Entwicklungspolitik, eine entwicklungspolitische Fachbibliothek mit einem Bestand von rund 62.000 Bänden. Die ÖFSE ist Mitglied im Österreichischen Bibliothekenverbund sowie koordinierendes Mitglied im Informationsverbund Globale Entwicklung.

Der Bereich Information und Dokumentation umfasst wissenschaftliche Fachdokumentationen und die damit verbundene Informationsarbeit der ÖFSE. Die ÖFSE betreut fünf Online-Datenbanken zu Projekten, Institutionen, Webangeboten, ReferentInnen und Spenden. Die Informationsmaßnahmen erfolgen im Wesentlichen über die Webseiten www.eza.at und www.oefse.at.

Zielgruppen des Projekts sind die entwicklungspolitisch interessierte Öffentlichkeit, EZA-AkteurInnen in öffentlichen und privaten Einrichtungen sowie der universitäre Bereich.

Ziele für 2009 sind die Erhöhung der Nutzung der Bibliothek, die weitere Qualifizierung der Dienstleistungen sowie strukturelle Veränderungen. Mit September 2009 wird die ÖFSE an den Standort 1090 Wien/ Sensengasse übersiedeln, wo ein neues entwicklungspolitisches Bibliothekszentrum gemeinsam mit den Bibliotheken von Frauensolidarität und BAOBAB entsteht. Als besondere Maßnahmen sind u.a. ein verstärktes Veranstaltungsangebot, ein Ausbau der Serviceleistungen, die Integration der missio-Bibliothek, eine Spezialsammlung Belletristik aus dem Süden und ein Relaunch der Website eza.at geplant.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 1.153.000,00 in der Höhe von EUR 1.096.000,00 (95,06 %) für 2 Jahre gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
