Overall goal


1982 von entwicklungspolitisch engagierten Frauen gegründet, thematisiert der Verein Frauensolidarität das Anliegen, die Situation von Frauen in Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika in Österreich. Der Verein gibt die gleichnamige Vierteljahreszeitschrift heraus und unterstützt Projekte in Entwicklungsländern.


2008 bietet die Frauensolidarität einen Bücher- und Broschürenbestand von 7.000 Stück sowie 170 Bildtondokumente, welcher für die allgemeine Öffentlichkeit an 200 Tagen jährlich rund 33 Wochenstunden zugänglich ist. Darüber hinaus werden rund 1.200 Bibliotheksbesucherinnen betreut, rund 400 telefonische und schriftliche Anfragen bearbeitet und jährlich 2.400 Dokumente verliehen. Weiters stockt das Projektteam die Bibliothek pro Jahr um 400 Monographien, 600 Artikel aus Zeitschriften und Sammelbänden und 20 Bildtondokumente in den Bestand auf. Die Koordination mit anderen entwicklungspolitischen Bibliotheken (ÖFSE, BAOBAB und Lateinamerika-Institut) ermöglicht ein gemeinsames für die Allgemeinheit nutzbares Portal.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 117.760,00 in der Höhe von EUR 100.000,00 (84,92 %) gefördert.
