Overall goal


Der Verein Frauensolidarität wurde 1982 von entwicklungspolitisch engagierten Frauen gegründet mit dem Anliegen, die Situation von Frauen in Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika in Österreich zum Thema zu machen. Der Verein gibt die gleichnamige Vierteljahreszeitschrift heraus und unterstützt Projekte in Entwicklungsländern. Im Rahmen von WIDE wird Lobbying für Frauenförderung in der EZA unterstützt.


Durch das Projekt wird die Tätigkeit der "Bibliotheks- und Dokumentationsstelle Frauen und Dritte Welt" gefördert. Der Bestand weist rund 6.500 Monografien aus, die seit 2005 in einem neuen Bibliothekssystem erfasst werden. Es werden jährlich rund 400 Monografien, 700 Zeitschriftenartikel und 20 Videos inhaltlich und formal erschlossen. Es werden 120 Periodika betreut und es gibt eine Presse-, Gruppen- und Fotodokumentation. Die Bibliothek ist an 160 Tagen geöffnet und verzeichnet rund 1.200 BesucherInnen jährlich. Darüber hinaus werden rund 500 Anfragen beantwortet.


Die Frauensolidarität arbeitet im Informationsverbund Globale Entwicklung mit und kooperiert besonders eng mit den Bibliotheken der ÖFSE und von Baobab, die am selben Standort beheimatet sind. Unter anderem gibt es einen gemeinsamen Entlehnausweis. Alle Leistungen sind über ein gemeinsames Internetportal recherchierbar.

Spezifische Veranstaltungsreihen, u.a. die Präsentation aktueller akademischer Arbeiten zu genderrelevanten Themen, wenden sich an Studierende und spezifisch Interessierte.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 107.790,- in der Höhe von EUR 97.000,- (89,98%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
