Overall goal


Das Volontariatsprogramm hat zum Ziel jungen ÖsterreicherInnen, nach entsprechender Vorbereitung und Prüfung ihrer Eignung, ein einjähriges Volontariat oder Zivilersatzsdienst in einem Projekt des globalen Südens zu ermöglichen. Durch das Mitleben und Mitarbeiten wird solidarisches Handeln und interkulturelle Verständigung gefördert. Diese Erfahrung setzt einen Lernprozess in Gang, der unterstützt, die im Einsatz gewonnenen Erfahrungen weiterzugeben und einen Beitrag zur entwicklungspolitischen Bildungsarbeit zu leisten.


Expected results


Junge Erwachsene aus ganz Österreich, 35 VolontärInnen pro Jahr, nehmen an einer strukturierten Einsatzvorbereitung (Informations- und Auswahltag, vier Vorbereitungsmodule) teil. Sie engagieren sich ein Jahr lang in ausgewählten Bildungs- und Sozialprojekten in Lateinamerika, Afrika oder Asien. Die RückkehrerInnen nehmen ein umfassendes De-Briefing in Anspruch. Die TeilnehmerInnen werden in allen Projektphasen zur Reflexion angeregt; der persönliche Lernprozess wird vor, während und nach dem Einsatz gefördert. RückkehrerInnen bringen sich auf vielfältige Weise in die österreichische Gesellschaft ein. Der regelmäßige Informationsaustausch, Schulungs- und Vernetzungsangebote und regionale Anlaufstellen unterstützen TeilnehmerInnen als MultiplikatorInnen in deren längerfristigem Engagement. Das Volontariatsprogramm erzielt gute Medienpräsenz insbesondere in Lokalmedien.


Target group / Beneficiaries


Hauptzielgruppe sind etwa 70 junge Erwachsene im Alter von 18-35 Jahren aus ganz Österreich. Die sekundäre Ziel- und Dialoggruppe bilden Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene im jeweiligen Einsatzprojekt und die ProjektpartnerInnen vor Ort. Das Programm verfügt über ein breites Netz von Don Bosco-Projektpartnern im globalen Süden. Weitere Zielgruppe sind Vereine und NGOs aus dem entwicklungspolitischen Bereich.


Activities


1. Vorbereitung: Jährlicher Kontakt mit etwa 100 Neu-InteressentInnen, 6 x jährlich Informations- und Auswahltage, drei Vorbereitungswochenenden, zwei Vorbereitungswochen im Frühjahr und Herbst

2. Einsatzbegleitung für etwa 70 VolontärInnen jährlich

3. De-Briefing, Reflexionswochenenden und Engagement in Österreich

4. Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und Kooperation: Präsenz auf Freiwilligenmessen, 10 – 12 Newsletter, Medienarbeit

Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von Euro 557.200 mit Euro 390.000 (69,99 %) für 2 Jahre gefördert.
