Overall goal


Das Buch soll die Diskussion um die Notwendigkeit und Sinnhaftigkeit der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit (EZA) über das Jahr 2015 hinaus fördern und relevante Argumente für eine effektive und zukunftsorientierte Entwicklungszusammenarbeit liefern.

Die Autoren Thomas Vogel und Friedbert Ottacher sind langjährige Praktiker in der EZA, Ziel ist die Verbreitung eines gut lesbaren Buches, welches einen fundierten Einblick bietet.

 


Expected results


Das Buch „Entwicklungszusammenarbeit im Umbruch – Bilanz, Kritik, Perspektiven“ wird in einer Auflage von 2.000 Stk. vom Verlag Brandes & Apsel herausgegeben. Die Vermarktung erfolgt im deutschsprachigen Raum insbesondere in Österreich.


Target group / Beneficiaries


Die Publikation richtet sich an entwicklungspolitisch interessierte LeserInnen in Österreich (Deutschland und der Schweiz), die sich in kompakter Form mit der Geschichte der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit und den aktuellen Herausforderungen, und Trends befassen wollen. Es soll hauptamtlichen und ehrenamtlichen MitarbeiterInnen in Entwicklungsorganisationen sowie entwicklungspolitisch Interessierten einen raschen und dennoch fundierten Einblick in die großen Themen der EZA geben.

Ein Vertriebskonzept und Medienkooperationen liegen vor. Alternative Vertriebswege sind neben dem Buchhandel eine Kooperation mit dem Südwind Magazin sowie über HORIZONT 3000.


Activities


Das Buch ist für eine interessierte Öffentlichkeit relevant. Rezensionen, Autoreninterviews, Präsentation in Ö1 und die Vorstellung bei Workshops sind geplant. Eine öffentliche Buchpräsentation mit prominenten TeilnehmerInnen in Wien mit etwa 250 Gästen, Lesungen und Diskussionsveranstaltungen österreichweit vorgesehen.


Context


Das European Year for Development 2015 und das Ende der Ära der Millennium Entwicklungsziele gibt Anlass, um Bilanz über die Erfolge und Rückschläge in der bald 65-jährigen Geschichte der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit zu ziehen.


Es wird um eine Förderung aus OEZA-Mitteln in der Höhe von Euro 2.500,- (21,28% des Gesamtprojektvolumens) angesucht. Laufzeit: 02.03.2015 – 15.09.2015

  • Policy marker: are used to identify, assess and facilitate the monitoring of activities in support of policy objectives concerning gender equality, aid to environment, participatory development/good governance, trade development and reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health.   • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
