Overall goal


Das Kunstprojekt "Café Melange" ist ein Beitrag zum Europäischen Jahr des Interkulturellen Dialogs (EJID 2008). Die Idee: Das Kaffeehaus ist ein traditioneller Ort der Begegnung, des Austausches, der Information, der Unterhaltung - ein Ort für den interkulturellen Dialog. Das "Café Melange" als mobiles, interaktives Kulturcafé reist durch Wien, das Informationen und künstlerische Positionen zum Thema "kulturelle Melange" versammelt und der Öffentlichkeit zugänglich macht. Ein Containerensemble - als mobiles Kaffeehaus eingerichtet - und mit einer Bibliothek, Videothek, Audiothek, mit künsterlischen Artefakten und Informationsmaterialien ausgestattet, soll Treffpunkt sein und bestehende Zentren, Vereine, Initiativen des Interkulturellen Dialogs an verschiedenen Orten in Wien vernetzen. Ein Schwerpunkt wird auch die Kooperation mit Lehrpersonal von Schulen mit integrativem Ansatz sein, einzelne Veranstaltungsbeiträge werden gemeinsam mit SchülerInnen erarbeitet. Darüber hinaus wird eine Projekt-Website (www.cafemelange.net) eingerichtet, es erscheint ein Newsletter (4x) und diverse Medienkooperationen sind geplant. An 3 Standorten in Wien (1200, Wallensteinplatz; 1070, Urban-Loritz-Platz und 1100, Columbusplatz) finden für jeweils 2 Wochen Veranstaltungen statt.

Das Projekt ist eines der sog. Leitprojekte, welches das BMUKK und das zur Umsetzung des EJID 2008 gebildete Nationalkomitee unterstützen. Für Idee und Durchführung verantwortlich zeichnet die Künstlergruppe Der blaue Kompressor / Hanna Schimek und Gustav Deutsch, die organisatorische Betreuung erfolgt durch After Image Productions.

Das Projekt wird aus OEZA-Mitteln in der Höhe von Euro 15.000,- (9,71 % des Gesamtprojektvolumens) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
