Short Description:

Overall goal


Ziel des Projekts ist die Förderung nachhaltiger Entwicklung ländlicher Kleinbauern und -bäuerinnen in Lubulini und Somntongo im Osten/Südosten des Landes. Dank verbessertem Zugang zu Wasser durch das Sammeln von (Regen-)Wasser können bedürftige Familien klimafreundliche und nahrhafte landwirtschaftliche Produkte in bewässerten Gärten anbauen.


Expected results


Resultat 1: Infrastruktur zum Sammeln von Regenwasser ist errichtet und Haushalte wissen, wie sie diese erhalten können.

Resultat 2: Bedürftige Haushalte wissen, wie sie vorhandene Wasserressourcen möglichst effizient nutzen.

Resultat 3: Klimafreundliche Heimgärten in bedürftigen Haushalten und Schaugärten sind etabliert.

Resultat 4: Bedürftige Haushalte und JugendmentorInnen wissen, wie sie klimafreundliche Landwirtschaft praktizieren.


Target group / Beneficiaries


- 800 Haushalte (ca. 5.600 Personen);

- 60 JugendmentorInnen;

- 40 „Lead Farmers“.


Activities


Auswahl und Schulung von JugendmentorInnen; Identifikation und Schulung von bedürftigen Haushalten; Ausstatten der Haushalte mit Material für Wassersammelsysteme; Errichtung und Monitoring der Wassersammelsysteme; Schulung bedürftiger Haushalte in Wasser-Aufbewahrungstechniken und ressourcensparender Bewässerung; Auffrischungsschulungen über die Behandlung und Recycling von Wasser durchgeführt; Sensibilisierung der Community-Mitglieder bezüglich schädlicher landwirtschaftlicher Praktiken; Schulung bedürftiger Haushalte bezüglich Auswahl des richtigen Saatgutes (hitzetolerante Sorten); Ausstatten der Haushalte mit Material zur Errichtung der Gärten (Saatgut, Setzlinge, Pestizide; Zäune; Bewässerungsmaterial, etc.); Errichtung von Schaugärten für klimafreundlichen Gemüseanbau; Durchführung von Auffrischungstrainings für „lead farmers“ zu klimafreundlichen Agrartechniken in Heimgärten; Schulung bedürftiger Haushalte zu Ernährung und Nahrungsmittelverarbeitung; (klein)unternehmerische und landwirtschaftliche Beratung interessierter Haushalte.


Context


Die klimatischen Bedingungen im Projektgebiet sind schwierig; es ist sehr trocken, Regen kommt nur selten und wenn, dann in zu großem Ausmaß. Dies hat schwerwiegende negative Auswirkungen auf die örtliche Landwirtschaft und die vorhandenen Wasserressourcen.


Der OEZA-Kofinanzierungsanteil beträgt 15 Prozent.

  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
