Overall goal


Ziel dieses regionalen Projekts ist die Förderung, Verbesserung und Verbreitung von solaren Trocknungsanlagen in Guatemala, El Salvador und Nikaragua durch Bau, Installation und Nutzung dieser Anlagen, um die Ernte der Bauern und Bäuerinnen zu sichern und die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit von kleinen Gewerbebetrieben zu erhöhen. Durch die solare Trocknung werden die Produktqualität verbessert und damit die Vermarktungsmöglichkeiten erhöht, die ProduzentInnen erschließen neue bzw. zusätzliche Einkommensquellen und leisten durch die Nutzug von Solarenergie einen Beitrag zum Umweltschutz.

Mit der Nutzung der solaren Trocknungsanlagen werden vor allem Energiekosten, aber auch andere Kosten wie jene für Transport und Lagerung eingespart. Mit der Produktion und Installation der solaren Trocknungsanlagen werden Klein- und Mittelbetriebe gestärkt, es werden Arbeitplätze geschaffen und Einkommen verbessert.

Das Projekt besteht aus vier Komponenten:

1. Verbreitung und Forschung,

2. Ausstattung und Infrastruktur,

3. Unternehmenszusammenarbeit und

4. Ausbildung sowie technische Assistenz.


Das vorliegenden Projekt ist durch die Ausweitung der Projekte 2079-00/2002 (Nicaragua) und 2172-00/2002 (El Salvador) zu einem regionalen Programm entstanden.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
