DCED (Donor Committee for Enterprise Development) - Mitgliedsbeitrag 2019 - 2024
Short Description:
Overall goal
The Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED) is an international platform to foster donor coordination, where all major donors are represented. The DCED’s 24 members – funding and inter-governmental agencies – share the vision of making PSD more effective by:
• Sharing experience between agencies and field programmes;
• Developing and disseminating knowledge and guidance on good practice in PSD; and
• Communicating evidence on results in PSD.
The Committee supports the implementation of Aid Effectiveness following the results of Busan. It responds to the common needs of the donors to efficiently deliver the services to governments, private sector and civil society. In meetings and working groups on selected issues donors get the possibility to network, to discuss innovative approaches and experiences and to benefit from the Committee's knowledge management. The Austrian Development Agency is a member of the DCED and pays a yearly membership fee.
Expected results
Expected Outcomes:
- Access to evidence and guidance on PSD, including Results Measurement
- Better Knowledge on PSD, e.g. through Newsletters and Research Updates regarding a broad range of PSD related topics
- Participation in events and networking with the development community
Private Sector and Development is one out of three focuses in ADCs 3-Years-Program. The participation in the DCED makes professional work on the topic possible for ADA. It is the only platform for up-to-date-information and evidence on economic development cooperation.
Through the cooperation with the DCED the quality of more than 30 new projects and programs is improved every year and their efficiency is enhanced. The membership contributes therefore to the improvement of livelihoods of several 1000s of beneficiaries each year.
In addition, the membership enables ADA to build and improve knowledge (inside and outside of the organisation) on the interface with other focus topics of ADC, e.g. Women's Economic Empowerment in Inclusive Market Systems Development and Private Sector Development in Fragile Contexts, and therefore contributes to fulfill also other strategic goals of the Austrian Development Cooperation.
