Overall goal


Trotz des geförderten Grundschulsystems in den letzten 10 Jahren hat Uganda noch immer eine sehr hohe Analphabetenrate , vor allem bei der Bevölkerung im Alter von 20- 60 Jahren. Das Vorhaben wird in der Diözese Luwero mit rund 470.000 Einwohnern durchgeführt. Sie liegt 71 km nördlich der Hauptstadt Kampala.


Angesprochen ist eine Altersgruppe zwischen 20 und 60 Jahren, die mehrheitlich Analphabeten sind. Zurzeit nehmen 47 Personen an der Ausbildung teil. Davon profitieren auch deren Familien. Eine Familie in Uganda hat im Durchschnitt 7 Personen. Ca. 120 Teilnehmer werden in den nächsten zwei Jahren an der Ausbildung teilnehmen, d. s. ca. 30 Personen pro Zentrum. Die Ankündigung erfolgt durch Kirchen und lokale Behörden. Auswahl erfolgt aufgrund von Bewerbungsgesprächen.


Die TeilnehmerInnen werden in drei unterschiedlichen Themenbereichen unterrichtet: Lesen, Schreiben und Rechnen, Haushaltsführung (Hygiene, sanitäre Maßnahmen, Ernährungslehre) und Hauswirtschaftslehre (integriert mit biologischer Landwirtschaft). Die TeilnehmerInnen legen vierteljährlich Tests/Prüfungen ab, die benotet werden. Zum Abschluss der Ausbildung müssen sie eine Schlussprüfung ablegen, die auch durch Zeugnisse dokumentiert wird. Ziel ist es, dass diese Prüfungen auch staatlich offiziell anerkannt werden.

Es werden keine Teilnehmergebühren eingehoben, weil die Familien von durchschnittlich EUR 180,-- bis 320,-- pro Jahr leben müssen. Lehrer und Verwaltungskräfte werden aus Subventionsgeldern des Vereins bezahlt.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries.
