Overall goal


Der Standort des Projektes befindet sich in Aouderas, einem Dorf im Norden des Niger, im von Tuareg besiedelten Air Massiv, ca. 120km nördlich der Provinzhauptstadt Agadez. Das Dorf hat ungefähr 4000 Einwohner, die in extremer Armut leben. Das momentane Hauptproblem in Aouderas ist das Fehlen eines Brunnens, der hygienisch einwandfreies Trinkwasser liefert. Der bisher benützte Brunnen (Baujahr 1978) liegt ca. 2 km außerhalb des Dorfes. Da er nicht abgedeckt ist und sich ständig Menschen und Tiere in seiner Nähe aufhalten, ist sein Wasser stark mit Bakterien und Fäkalien verschmutzt. Die Bevölkerung, besonders die Kinder, leidet durch die Nutzung dieses verseuchten Wassers an schweren Durchfallerkrankungen.

Im Dorf befindet sich auch eine kleine Sanitätsstation, die dringend hygienisch einwandfreies Wasser u.a. für Entbindungen und die Wundversorgung benötigt.


Es ist vorgesehen, den Brunnen in der Nähe des alten im Wadi zu errichten, da dort sicher Wasser zu finden ist. Er wird ca. 20 Meter tief sein müssen, da in der Trockenzeit der Grundwasserpegel etwa auf diese Tiefe sinkt. Er muss geschlossen und mit einer Pumpe versehen sein. Die Brunnenumgebung wird im Umkreis von 2 Metern betoniert sein. All dies sind Maßnahmen um die Verschmutzung des Grundwassers durch die Nutzer und durch Tiere zu verhindern. Außerdem erleichtert die geplante Hand- oder Fußpumpe die bislang recht anstrengende Wasserförderung.

Da der zukünftige Brunnen auch ca. 2km vom Dorf entfernt sein wird, wird dem Dorf ein Eselkarren mit einem kleinen Wasserbehälter zur Verfügung gestellt, um das Wasser in die Dorfmitte zu transportieren. Das Wasserholen ist bislang die Aufgabe von Mädchen, die mehrmals täglich dies schwere Aufgabe erledigen müssen und deshalb häufig nicht zur Schule gehen können. Es ist ein geschlossener Vorratsbehälter vorgesehen, der täglich mit frischem Wasser und Desinfektionsmittel gefüllt wird und somit ständig hygienisch einwandfreies Wasser beinhalten wird.
