Die österreichische MONDI AG ist Teil der MONDI Gruppe, einem weltweit führenden Unternehmen in der Papier- und Verpackungsindustrie. MONDI unterstützt im Rahmen ihrer CSR-Strategie die berufliche Qualifizierung von Jugendlichen in Schwellen- und Entwicklungsländern, um ihnen den Eintritt in das Arbeitsleben zu ermöglichen.


Das vorliegende Projekt baut auf den positiven Ergebnissen der strategischen Partnerschaft zu Förderung der Berufsbildung im benachbarten Bundesstaat Coahuila auf, die von der RHI AG und ADA seit 2013 unterstützt wird. Mit der Ausbildungsinitiative am Industriestandort Monterrey wird ein weiterer, essentieller Beitrag zur Verbesserung der Ausbildung von FacharbeiterInnen geleistet.


Das Projekt übernimmt die in Coahuila erarbeiteten und staatlich anerkannten dualen Trainingscurricula für IndustrieelektrikerInnen, -mechanikerInnen und WerkzeugmacherInnen. Die LehrerInnen in den Fachschulen sowie die LehrlingstrainerInnen in den Unternehmen erhalten Weiterbildungen, um eine duale FacharbeiterInnenausbildung anbieten zu können, die sich an den Standards im deutschsprachigen Raum orientiert. MONDI arbeitet dafür mit drei Unternehmerverbänden und zwei technischen Fachschulen zusammen.


Zielgruppe sind Jugendliche aus einkommensschwachen Schichten, für die das verbesserte Ausbildungsangebot eine große Chance auf eine qualifizierte Arbeit und ein höheres Einkommen bedeutet. Während der Projektlaufzeit profitieren 145 Auszubildende und Lehrkräfte sowie 18 lokale Unternehmen und 5 Institutionen direkt vom Projekt. 117 zusätzliche Jobs entstehen. Ab 2017 wird die Ausbildungskapazität 150 Lehrlingen pro Jahr betragen.
