Overall goal


Mit dem diskursiven Kunstprojekt "Dunkelschwarz - Das Fremde am Beispiel Afrika" greift das Offene Haus Oberwart die Themen Migration, Xenophobie und Mythenbildung auf. Klischeebilder von Afrika und AfrikanerInnen sollen künstlerisch bearbeitet und hinterfragt, Feindbilder abgebaut werden. Das Wissen über die Vielfalt Afrikas soll verbreitet und die Polarisierung gemindert werden. "Dunkelschwarz" wird gemeinsam mit KünstlerInnen, WissenschafterInnen und Institutionen durchgeführt.

Das umfangreiche Programm umfasst eine Ausstellung, ein Filmprogramm, künstlerische Interventionen sowie Workshops und Diskussionen. Im Rahmen eines artist-in-residence-Programms werden KünstlerInnen aus verschiedenen afrikanischen Ländern nach Oberwart eingeladen und ihre Kunst und Sichtweisen in das Programm einbringen. Ergänzend sind Informationsveranstaltungen, Fußball-WM-Übertragungen, Lesungen und Musikveranstaltungen geplant. Angesprochen werden neben dem kulturinteressierten Publikum vor allem die breite Öffentlichkeit und die Schulen von Oberwart.


Das Projekt wird aus OEZA-Mitteln in der Höhe von Euro 14.000,- (18,23% des Gesamtprojektvolumens) gefördert. Laufzeit: 9 Monate
