Overall goal


Thematisch fokussiert die OEZA im SADC Raum neben Rechtsstaatlichkeit auf das Thema Infrastruktur. Dabei steht der Umstieg von der Nutzung fossiler Energie auf eine nachhaltige Energieversorgung im Vordergrund. Der Zugang zu leistbarer und nachhaltiger Energie für Kochen, Licht, Wärme, Kälte und Kraft ist eine Voraussetzung, um Armut im SADC Raum zu mindern.


In diesem Sinne ist fördert die Partnerschaft für Energie und Umwelt im SADC Raum und im östlichen Afrika den Zuge zu modernen Energiedienstleistungen. Diese Energie ist sozial, wirtschaftlich und ökologisch verträglich. Die Partner der SADC und EAC sind Österreich, Finnland und Großbritannien.


Bisher waren 8 Länder Mitglied der EEP S&EA. Auf Grund der erfolgreichen Finanzierung von Energievorhaben und dem gegebenen Bedarf haben 5 weitere Staaten ihre Mitgliedschaft beantragt. Somit sind jetzt 13 Mitgliedsstaaten der beiden Regionalorganisationen Mitglieder der Partnerschaft.


Bisher wurden 91 Projekte mit einem Volumen von ca. € 18,87 Mio. aus der Partnerschaft finanziert. Der fast gleiche Betrag wurde an Eigenmittel durch die Antragsteller aufgebracht. Durch diese Initiativen werden insgesamt 9.4747 Tonnen an CO2 pro Jahr eingespart werden.


Ca. 600.000 Menschen in 110.000 Haushalte haben dadurch verbesserten Zugang zu Energie. Fast 6.000 Arbeitsplätze wurden geschaffen, 50% der Beschäftigten sind Frauen und Jugendliche.


Mit dem geplanten Beitrag in Höhe von € 1,00 Mio. wird die ADA zur 5 Einladung zur Legung von Förderanträgen beitragen. Und somit den vorgesehenen Betrag von € 8,50 Mio. zur Finanzierung weitere Projekte bereit um diese € 1,00 Mio. aufstocken.

    • Others - various other donors are listed in ADA’s annual business report.
  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
