Overall goal


Die Verbesserung der sozioökonomischen Lage der beteiligten Familien und Gemeinschaften in einer sozial benachteiligten Region in Nordghana steht im Mittelpunkt des Projektes. In und um die Stadt Tamale werden Frauen bei der Einkommensgenerierung durch die Bereitstellung einer Anlage zur Verarbeitung von rohen Shea- und Erdnüssen unterstützt. Damit geht eine gewisse Unabhängigkeit der Frauen einher, gleichzeitig wird damit der Schulbesuch ihrer Kinder ermöglicht. Der lokale Projektpartner und Initiator des Projekts SOLIEDU stellt die materiellen und ideellen Strukturen zur Verfügung. Die 40 Teilnehmerinnen werden in die Verarbeitung der Nüsse zu Butter und Öl eingeschult und haben damit die Möglichkeit die Nüsse zu verarbeiten und dann weiter zu verkaufen.

In Form von Workshops und Trainings wird den Frauen das notwendige Wissen vermittelt. Für die ökologisch und sozial nachhaltige Vorgehensweise der Shea-Verarbeitung gibt es bereits erfolgreiche Projekte von anderen TrägerInnen als Beispiele, an denen sich auch dieses Projekt orientiert. Gleichzeitig wird aber auf die speziellen Bedürfnisse der Zielgruppen, v.a. der teilnehmenden Frauen eingegangen, beispielsweise durch die Organisation in Kleingruppen zum Austausch von Ressourcen, Know-how, etc, aber auch durch das Angebot an die Frauen ihr Einkommen als Sparguthaben bei SOLIEDU zu hinterlegen. Nach dem ersten profitablen Produktions- und Distributionsdurchlauf soll ein kleinerer, festgelegter Teil der Einkünfte der Frauengruppen als eine Art „Benutzungsgebühr“ für die Instandhaltung der Anlage und auch den Erhalt der mit dem Projekt verbundenen Vorschule „Hassaniya Kiddies“ verwendet werden.
