Overall goal


In Burkina Faso leben 80% der Bevölkerung in ländlichen Gebieten, zumeist ohne elektrischen Strom. Durch das Projekt soll zumindest ein Gebäude im Dorf Beiga mit Solarenergie versorgt werden. Das Projektgebiet liegt in der Sahelregion im Norden von Burkina Faso im Grenzgebiet zum Niger. Die Infrastruktur ist in diesem Gebiet nur sehr schwach ausgebaut, so sind es von Beiga bis zur nächsten Teerstraße 80 km. Es gibt weder Wasser- noch Stromversorgung.


Mit der Elektrifizierung der Grundschule werden die Klassenzimmer der Dorfgemeinschaft in den Abendstunden für verschiedene Aktivitäten zur Verfügung stehen. Für Hunderte von Menschen in der Region besteht durch Licht in der Schule die Möglichkeit, am Abend Alphabetisierungskurse zu besuchen. Besonders Frauen sollen die Chance auf Grundbildung erhalten. Als Ort der Begegnung wird ein Beitrag zum sozialen Zusammenhalt geleistet.


Die Eltern der SchülerInnen sind an der Umsetzung beteiligt und übernehmen wichtige Aufgaben. Der Schuldirektor und die Elternvereinigung verpflichten sich schriftlich, die Verantwortung für die Solaranlage zu übernehmen, und sich um die Nutzung der Klassenzimmer zu kümmern. Durch eine lokale Firma wird eine Anlage für 12 Lampen installiert, damit können zwei Räume ausgeleuchtet werden.
