Overall goal


Ziel des 2-jährigen Projekts 'Empowerment und Bildung für Roma Mädchen' von CARE Österreich ist, dass Roma Mädchen in der Vojvodina/Serbien die Schule besuchen und abschließen. Darüber hinaus soll damit die Integration der Roma in die serbische Gesellschaft gefördert werden.

Diskriminierung und soziale Marginalisierung von Roma stellen ein weit verbreitetes Problem in Serbien dar. Roma verfügen über weniger Ausbildungsjahre und sind schlechter am Arbeitsmarkt positioniert, was viele Familien in einer Armutsspirale gefangen hält und deren soziale Ausgrenzung verstärkt.

Durch den Zugang zu Bildung sollen neue Möglichkeiten für die soziale Gleichstellung und Integration der Roma eröffnet werden. Trotz politischen Einsatzes fehlt es an finanziellen Ressourcen sowie der Implementierung auf lokaler Ebene. Speziell Roma Frauen sind einer doppelten Diskriminierung ausgesetzt (Benachteiligung als Mitglieder der Roma Minderheit in der serbischen Gesellschaft und als Frauen in der streng patriarchalisch geprägten Roma Gemeinschaft).

Zielgruppe sind Roma Mädchen in vier Siedlungen in der Vojvodina (Novi Sad und Becej) sowie deren direktes soziales Umfeld (LehrerInnen, Eltern, respektierte Personen der Roma Gemeinschaft). Durch Workshops (u.a. Forumtheater) soll das Selbstbewusstsein der Mädchen gestärkt werden. Eltern und die weitere Gemeinschaft werden durch im Rahmen des Projekts geschaffene Strukturen des Dialogs und der Partizipation für die Wichtigkeit von Bildung sensibilisiert. Lobbying Aktivitäten tragen zur verstärkten Implementierung des gesetzlichen Rahmens zur Förderung der Integration von Roma bei.

Erwartete Resultate:

1. Verständnis für die Bedeutung von Bildung für Roma Mädchen innerhalb der ausgewählten Roma-Gemeinden ist gestiegen.

2. Fähigkeiten und Selbstvertrauen der Roma Mädchen sind gestärkt.

3. Bemühungen seitens der relevanten lokalen und regionalen Behörden hinsichtlich einer Anhebung des Bildungsniveaus der Roma Mädchen wurden verstärkt.
