Overall goal


Im Rahmen dieses Projektes wird die Entminung in der Gespannschaft Vukovar/Srijem (Kroatien) durch ITF (International Trust Fund for Demining) unterstützt. Dieses Projekt ist Teil einer österreichischen Intitiative zur Unterstützung der Gespannschaft und ausgewählter Gemeinden in der Gespannschaft bei der Entwicklung eines touristischen Angebots, wofür eine Lösung oder zumindest Linderung der Minenproblematik Voraussetzung ist. Der österreichische Beitrag wird von ITFund von CROMAC jeweils verdoppelt, wodurch das Projekt ein Gesamtvolumen von rd. 1,2 Mio EUR erreicht. Die gezielte Flächenwidmung duch das Koordinationsbüro in Zusammenarbeit mit ITF und den kroatischen Behörden stellt die Kohärenz mit den anderen Aktivitäten im Rahmen der österrechischen Initative sicher. Auch wird der betroffenen Bevölkerung in der Region der Zugang zu bewirtschaftbarem Agrarland und zu Forstflächen ermöglicht. Das Projekt leistet einen weiteren Beitrag zur Erreichung der Ziele der Initiative 'Landminenfreie Region Südosteuropa 2010', die von Österreich unterstützt wird.
