Overall goal


Ägypten - ein Land im Umbruch. Schwerwiegende politische, wirtschaftliche und soziale Schwierigkeiten prägen das Land und sein Volk. Die Solarthermie verfügt über ein enormes wirtschaftliches und energetisches Potential, das bisher noch viel zu wenig genützt wird.


Die Wirtschaftspartnerschaft verfolgt den Zweck, europäische Solarthermiesysteme an die ägyptischen Verhältnisse anzupassen und Wissen sowie Technologie den diversen Bildungsinstitutionen (in der Berufsbildung und universitären Bildung) zur Verfügung zu stellen. Außerdem sollen Kooperationen mit lokalen Unternehmen aufgebaut werden, sodass mittelfristig qualitativ hochwertige Solarthermieanlagen - so weit wie möglich - vor Ort gefertigt werden können.


Dabei bringen die österreichischen Firmen Sekem Energy, Pink und GREENoneTEC Wissen in den Bereichen Solartechnologie, Speicherbau und der strategischen Planung ein. Die lokale Partnerfirma ist Sekem, ein Produzent von Bio-Lebensmitteln, Gesundheitsprodukten und Textilien aus ökologischem Anbau.


In der Wirtschaftspartnerschaft werden (1) die Technologie an die ägyptischen Anforderungen angepasst, (2) LehrerInnen und ProfessorInnen des Berufsbildungszentrums und der Heliopolis Universität in Theorie und Praxis geschult und Ergänzungen für die Curricula entwickelt (3) Vertriebspartner und Zulieferbetriebe zum Thema Solarthermie geschult und (4) Maßnahmen der zur Schaffung von förderlichen Rahmenbedingungen umgesetzt.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
