Overall goal


Der zentrale Arbeitsbereich von BAOBAB ist die Führung einer entwicklungspädagogischen Bibliothek und Mediathek im Bereich des Globalen Lernens. Die bundesweiten Basisdienstleistungen umfassen Recherche, Beschaffung, Erfassung und Verleih von pädagogischen Materialien für die schulische und außerschulische Bildungsarbeit, die Bereitstellung - zum Teil auch als Online-Angebote - von Unterrichtshilfen und didaktischen Tipps, und Beratung. 2009 ist durch die Übersiedlung in das entwicklungspolitische Bibliothekszentrum Sensengasse eine Neuorganisation der Bibliothek vorgesehen.


BAOBAB koordiniert den Verbund entwicklungspolitischer Bibliotheken und Mediatheken zum Globalen Lernen und ist für die Pflege, Kontrolle und Weiterentwicklung des Online-Bibliothekskatalogs zuständig, in dem der Österreichweite Bestand von zehn Bibliotheken und Mediatheken erfasst wird.


Die Weltbilder-Medienstelle betreut wichtige Anliegen im Zusammenhang mit entwicklungspolitischer Filmarbeit. In der Reihe 'Weltbilder' werden Filme zu Nord-Süd-Themen für die Bildungsarbeit zugänglich gemacht und österreichweit im Verleih und Verkauf angeboten. Ziel der Medienstelle ist es, ein interessantes Angebot an entwicklungspolitischen Filmen und anderen audiovisuellen Medien für Bildungszwecke in Österreich laufend zu erweitern. BAOBAB erstellt auch schriftliche Hintergrundinformationen und Arbeitshilfen zu ausgewählten Filmen.


Im Bereich der Produktionsbegleitung und Rechtsberatung obliegt der Weltbilder -Medienstelle die begleitende und koordinierende Kontrolle von Medienproduktionen sowie die Beratung bei filmdramaturgischen und didaktischen, bei produktionstechnischen sowie bei vertrags- und urheberrechtlichen Fragen.


BAOBAB bietet wöchentlich eine elektronische Auswahlliste von Medientipps aus allen Fernsehprogrammen an.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 251.512,00 in der Höhe von EUR 150.000,00 (59,64%) gefördert.
