Overall goal


Der zentrale Arbeitsbereich von Baobab - Entwicklungspolitische Bildungs- und Schulstelle im Rahmen dieses Kernprojektes ist die Führung einer entwicklungspädagogischen Bibliothek im Bereich des Globalen Lernens mit folgenden lokalen und bundesweiten Basisdienstleistungen: Recherche, Beschaffung, Erfassung, Erschließung, Bereitstellung, Verleih und Beratung. Im Vordergrund steht dabei die zielgruppenorientierte und bedarfsgerechte Bereitstellung relevanter Informationen für die schulische und außerschulische Bildungsarbeit.


Baobab koordiniert den Verbund entwicklungspolitischer Mediatheken und ist für die Pflege, Kontrolle und Weiterentwicklung des Online-Bibliothekskatalogs zuständig, in dem der Österreichweite Bestand von zehn Bibliotheken erfasst wird. Bei den Aktivitäten im Verbund wird es 2008 eine Schwerpunktsetzung zum Thema 'Interkultureller Dialog' geben.


In der Reihe 'Weltbilder' werden Filme zu Nord-Süd-Themen für die Bildungsarbeit zugänglich gemacht und österreichweit im Verleih und Verkauf angeboten. Ziel der Medienstelle ist es, ein interessantes Angebot an entwicklungspolitischen Filmen und anderen audiovisuellen Medien für Bildungszwecke in Österreich laufend zu erweitern. Baobab erstellt auch schriftliche Hintergrundinformationen und Arbeitshilfen zu ausgewählten Filmen. Zielgruppen sind Filmstellen, Bibliotheken, Schulen und NGOs.

Im Bereich der Produktionsbegleitung und Rechtsberatung obliegt der Weltbilder -Medienstelle die begleitende und koordinierende Kontrolle von Medienproduktionen sowie die Beratung bei filmdramaturgischen und didaktischen, bei produktionstechnischen sowie bei vertrags- und urheberrechtlichen Fragen.

Die Koordinierung entwicklungspolitischer Angebote für ORF-RedakteurInnen und FilmemacherInnen wird weitergeführt.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 262.542,70 in der Höhe von EUR 164.970,00 (62,84%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
