Overall goal


Das Afro-Asiatische Institut Salzburg ist eine bewährte entwicklungspolitische Einrichtung in Salzburg. Mit seinem Begegnungszentrum erfüllt das AAI-Salzburg seit seiner Gründung 1988 auch eine wichtige integrierende Funktion für Studierende aus Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika. Das AAI-Salzburg verknüpft die umfassende Betreuung und Begleitung ausländischer Studierender mit seiner Bildungs-, Kultur- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit.

Im Mittelpunkt des Bildungsprogramms 2006 steht die Fortführung des Themenschwerpunkts Nachhaltige Entwicklung und Globalisierung sowie die Diskussion um Entwicklungszusammenarbeit vor dem Hintergrund neoliberaler Wirtschaftsstrukturen. In seinen Veranstaltungen (Seminare, Workshops, Vorträge, Diskussionen) greift das AAI-Salzburg außerdem die Auseinandersetzung mit den Millennium Development Goals auf.

Das AAI-Salzburg bietet eine vielfältige Mischung aus Lesungen, Workshops, Seminaren, Kulturabenden, interkulturellen Festen und Vorträgen. Es leistet mit seinen Aktivitäten einen wichtigen Beitrag zum Kulturaustausch und zur Förderung der Integration von ausländischen MitbürgerInnen in Salzburg sowie zu einer qualitativ hochwertigen Auseinandersetzung mit entwicklungspolitischen/ globalen Fragen. Die Arbeit des AAI-Salzburg setzt auf eine breite regionale Kooperationsbasis mit anderen entwicklungspolitischen Organisationen, mit universitären Einrichtungen, der Robert-Jungk-Bibliothek für Zukunftsfragen und MigrantInnenorganisationen. Durch die Mitarbeit im Entwicklungspolitischen Beirat des Landes und am Integrationskonzept der Stadt Salzburg ergeben sich auch gute Beziehungen zu politischen Gremien und EntscheidungsträgerInnen. Die Zielgruppen sind breit gestreut.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 58.441,00 in der Höhe von

EUR 25.435,00 (43,52 %) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
