Overall goal


Die bilaterale Kooperation im Bereich Nadelwaldforschung und -ausbildung basiert auf dem in den 90er-Jahren in Ura, Ostbhutan, durchgeführten 'Integrated Forest Management Project'. Seit 1999 wird mit dem Projekt 'Conifer Research and Training Partnership (CORET I)' die direkte Kooperation zwischen dem Renewable Natural Resources Research Center (RNR-RC) Jakar, Bhutan, und dem Institut für Waldökologie der BOKU Wien unterstützt. Dadurch wurde eine enge und erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit zwischen der BOKU Wien und den bhutanischen Forschungsstellen begründet. CORET II (Vertrag 1111-01/2003, Laufzeit: 01.10.2003-31.12.2007) sollte die Kontinuität und die langfristige Wirkung der Nadelwaldforschung in Bhutan sichern und gleichzeitig wesentlich zum Aufbau der bhutanischen Forschungskapazitäten beigetragen haben. Stärker noch als bisher lag in der Phase ll der Schwerpunkt in der Ausbildung der bhutanischen Kollegen. Dieser Werkvertrag dient der Finanzierung einer internen Evaluierung die im Projektbudget von 1111-01/2003 nicht vorgesehen war. Die Resultate der Evaluierung werden für die Erarbeitung einer Folgephase benötigt.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
