Overall goal


Das gegenständliche Projekt fügt sich an den Teil der laufenden Aktivitäten von KommEnt, der Gesellschaft für Kommunikation und Entwicklung an, die auf die Einführung und Umsetzung von systematischen Prozessen zur Selbstevaluation und Qualitätsentwicklung bei NRO in Österreich abzielen.


Die rasanten Entwicklungen, die sich international und in Österreich im Bereich des Fairen Handels vollziehen, werfen zahlreiche neue Fragen auf, für deren laufende Bearbeitung es dzt. in Österreich keine funktionierende Struktur gibt. Eine solche wird mit diesem Projekt vorbereitet. Eine im Herbst 2009 stattfindende "Fachtagung Fairer Handel", von KommEnt in enger Absprache mit dem Fair Trade Forum Österreich (ARGE Weltläden, Clean Clothes Campaign, Cona, Eine Welt Handel AG, EZA Fairer Handel, FAIRTRADE, FIAN, Label STEP, Oikocredit, SOL, Südwind-Agentur) organisiert, soll den Weg hin zu einem ab 2010 alle zwei Jahre stattfindenden "Kongress Fairer Handel" ebnen.


Die Fachtagung, an der rund 35 geladene Personen teilnehmen werden, bietet Diskussions- und Reflexionsmöglichkeiten, bei denen sowohl internationale Praxiserfahrungen als auch neuere Studien zum Thema von eingeladenen Fachpersonen rezipiert werden können. Die Tagung spricht in erster Linie folgende Gruppen an: Akteure des Fairen Handels, entwicklungspolitische Organisationen des unmittelbaren Umfelds, sowie Verantwortliche aus Politik, Verwaltung und Wirtschaft. Sie wird durch einen Reader dokumentiert.


Die Vorbereitung und Nachbereitung der Fachtagung liegt in den Händen einer vom Fair Trade Forum hierfür eingerichteten Arbeitsgruppe. Diese wird während der Projektlaufzeit vom Projektbetreuer koordiniert und inhaltlich angereichert. Hierdurch trägt das Projekt indirekt auch zur Intensivierung der Kooperation unter den Mitgliedsorganisationen des Fair Trade Forums Österreich bei.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 11815,00 in der Höhe von EUR 9415,00(79,69%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
