FIAN - FoodFirst Informations- und AktionsNetzwerk ist eine internationale Menschenrechts-organisation, die sich für das Recht auf Ernährung einsetzt. FIAN-Österreich ist Teil von FIAN-International mit Mitgliedern in 60 Staaten Afrikas, Amerikas, Asiens und Europas. In seiner Arbeit bezieht sich FIAN vor allem auf den Internationalen Pakt über wirtschaftliche, soziale und kulturelle Rechte (WSK-Pakt), der von 148 Staaten ratifiziert wurde.


Hungerlöhne, Unterdrückung freier Gewerkschaften und Gesundheitsgefahren durch einen massiven Pestizideinsatz sind die zentralen Probleme, weshalb sich FIAN seit 1991 für die Rechte von Blumenarbeiterinnen im Süden engagiert. Als Trägerorganisation des Gütesiegels FLP "Flower Label Program" (FLP) will FIAN im vorliegenden Projekt vor allem in der öffentlichen Beschaffung das Wissen über die Herkunft von Schnittblumen verbessern und politische EntscheidungsträgerInnen motivieren, vermehrt auf fair produzierte Blumen zu setzen. Dadurch können nachhaltig die Lebensbedingungen der BlumenarbeiterInnen im Süden verbessert werden.


Die eingesetzten Instrumente sind: öffentliche Veranstaltungen, Bildungsreisen von Gästen aus der Schnittblumenindustrie des Südens, Workshops, Pressearbeit, Lobbying von PolitikerInnen auf nationaler und EU-Ebene und die Präsenz auf Messen. Als Handlungsoption für die KonsumentInnen wird nicht nur der Kauf von fair gehandelten Schnittblumen an sich angeboten, sondern auch die Beteiligung an Fallarbeit oder Eilbriefaktionen vorangetrieben.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 892.117,- in der Höhe von EUR 24.800,- (2,78%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.

  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
