Overall goal


Der Verein 8film produziert einen 50-minütigen Dokumentarfilm über die brasilianische Stadt Curitiba. Die Einwohnerzahl Curitibas ist seit den 1950er Jahren bis 1990 von 300.000 auf 2,3 Millionen angewachsen, dennoch hat die Stadt mit sozialen Problemen wie Verelendung, Kriminalität, usw. in einem weit geringeren Ausmaß zu kämpfen als viele andere Metropolen in Entwicklungsländern.


Die Filmemacher Jörg Pibal (Regie, Drehbuch) und Paul Romauch (Drehbuch, Kamera) liefern eine filmische Beobachtung des Phänomens Curitiba als positives Beispiel für soziale Städteplanung und Stadtentwicklung und urban-ökologisches Management.


Der Film wird in österreichischen Programmkinos in Wien und Klagenfurt und bei (Dokumentar-)filmfestivals und anderen Filmveranstaltungen in Österreich und im Ausland zu sehen sein.

Über die Weltbilder-Medienstelle bei Baobab wird der Film auch zur Verwendung für die entwicklungspolitische Bildungsarbeit zur Verfügung stehen.

Eine weitere geplante Verwertungsschiene ist die Kooperation mit Unternehmen.


Zusätzlich zur 50-Minuten-Version ist eine 20-minütige Kurzfassung des Films geplant, um ihn flexibel einsetzbar zu machen.


Zielgruppen sind SchülerInnen und LehrerInnen, Unternehmen, Festivalpublikum, sowie eine filminteressierte bzw. entwicklungspolitisch interessierte Öffentlichkeit.


Das Projekt wird bei einem Gesamtprojektvolumen von EUR 31.950,00 in der Höhe von EUR 7.000,00 (21,91%) gefördert.

  • Type of Aid – Aid modalities: classifies transfers from the donor to the first recipient of funds such as budget support, core contributions and pooled programmes and funds to CSOs and multilateral organisations, project-type interventions, experts and other technical assistance, scholarships and student costs in donor countries, debt relief, administrative costs and other in-donor expenditures.
  • Purpose/ sector code: classifies the specific area of the recipient’s economic or social structure, funded by a bilateral contribution.
  • Tied/Untied: Untied aid is defined as loans and grants whose proceeds are fully and freely available to finance procurement from all OECD countries and substantially all developing countries. Transactions are considered tied unless the donor has, at the time of the aid offer, clearly specified a range of countries eligible for procurement which meets the tests for “untied” aid.
